  • Streu’s Pharmacy in Green Bay will soon close its retail operations as pharmacy benefit managers force independent stores to accept unsustainable reimbursement rates. Smith Pharmacy in Little Chute is expanding its services while local pharmacists warn that more closures may delay patient access to medications—legislation is being urged to support these community pharmacies.  94.3 Jack FM

CRIME NEWS

  • Wisconsin Public Service said law enforcement is warning of a sharp rise in utility scams that have led to over $10,000 in losses this week as scammers use fake caller IDs and demand immediate payment. The utility urged customers to hang up on calls that threaten disconnection — call 800-450-7260 for verification — and report suspicious contacts to police.  WNCY

CULTURE NEWS

  • A review of old articles shows Chili John's long history in Green Bay, with stories ranging from early ads in 1914 and a 50th anniversary comic in 1963 to honors like the Golden Knife and Fork Award for owner Dan Hoehne — a sign of its deep roots. EDUCATION NEWS

  • Green Bay schools and social workers are helping families as FoodShare benefits were paused on November 1 due to a federal shutdown.   • The deadline for Green Bay East High School football coach Niko Sila to resign passed on Thursday as he confirmed in writing that he rejected the resignation offer; he remains on paid administrative leave while the district plans next steps.  WNCY

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Officials completed a $4 million project to improve a dangerous intersection at EB-44 near Green Bay Southwest High School—repairing Packerland Drive and adding a roundabout at Trojan Drive. Brown County and its partners said the project was meant to reduce accidents and will monitor the area for any needed adjustments.  94.3 Jack FM
  • The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources announced yesterday that its new online merchandise store offers items celebrating the state’s fish, wildlife, plants and recreation traditions. Sales proceeds will support conservation projects and environmental education, and orders ship within (2-5 business days).  Green Bay News Network
  • Local airlines, vendors and airport partners at Green Bay airport have started a food drive to help unpaid federal workers during the government shutdown. Delta Air Lines + United Airlines and other companies are hosting twice-weekly luncheons and asking the public to drop off nonperishable food and household items until the shutdown ends.  Green Bay News Network
