  • St. John's Ministries is opening its men's and women's emergency shelters today and will serve guests through April 30. The women's shelter has increased its capacity from 58 to 70 guests per night — addressing a rising need for safe winter housing.  WNCY
  • AT&T donated $25,000 + 150 Chromebook laptops to the Greater Green Bay Boys & Girls Club on Friday to help close the digital divide, said CEO Johanna Wicklund, and the company also provided 150 backpacks filled with school supplies to boost student access to technology.  WBAY
  • Food pantries in Green Bay will face FoodShare delays in November and organizers say residents will be asked to donate, volunteer, or support local food efforts.  Green Bay Press-Gazette

  • The Brown County Sheriff's Office is searching for missing 16-year-old Emily Alana Lynn Cheek in Green Bay after she was last seen on October 26 at 10:03 p.m. on foot, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and pants while described as white with brown hair and brown eyes, standing 5'02" tall and weighing about 150 lbs.  WBAY

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Volunteers joined a Halloween-themed cleanup along the waterway where Baird Creek meets the East River last Friday, organized by the Green Bay Conservation Corps to remove garbage and protect local wildlife from pollution. The project aimed to improve water quality since the East River carries phosphorus and sediment-heavy water — cutting debris helps safeguard native habitats.  WBAY

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Green Bay’s mayor Eric Genrich signed a letter of intent with United Soccer League to explore bringing professional men’s and women’s soccer teams and a new soccer-specific stadium with a capacity of at least 5,000. City Council will meet on Nov. 11 and the Redevelopment Authority on Nov. 4—exclusive negotiations will run through September 2026 with options to extend talks until September 2027.  Green Bay Press-Gazette

SPORTS NEWS

  • UWGB officials announced that the men's basketball team will wear a new jersey honoring Native American Heritage Month at its Nov 3 game against the Kansas Jayhawks and will host an exchange game with Haskell Indian Nations University on Nov 29 at the Kress Events Center. The jersey was designed by 21-year-old Oneida Nation citizen and UWGB student Jossalyn Metoxen (whose design reflects Native art).  FOX 11
  • Green Bay is exploring a pro soccer team option and a plan to build a 5,000-seat stadium as the city's Redevelopment Authority reviews an exclusive letter of intent with the United Soccer League Tuesday—this agreement does not commit the city to fund or build the stadium but will examine site options and financing models for a potential sports district.  FOX 11
