- ➤ The Green Bay Packers will host a free fall-themed Spooktacular at the Lambeau Field Atrium on Oct. 18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., where families will enjoy crafts, games, cookie decorating, face painting and scheduled book readings while free parking is available via the American Family Insurance Gate on the east side. - ➤ Brown County parks officials announced that a nearly 100-year-old suspension bridge at Pamperin Park reopened yesterday after a major rehabilitation project. NWTC students rebuilt the decking and railings—using materials donated by Drexel Building Supply and Toonen Properties—to welcome a new generation of park visitors. 94.3 Jack FM

- ➤ Green Bay native Lara Fritts will lead the Greater Green Bay Chamber as its president and CEO starting Dec. 1—ending a six-month nationwide search. Fritts has over 30 years of experience in economic and community development and began her career in Green Bay. FOX 11
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Parents at Zion Lutheran School Wayside in Brown County demanded greater transparency when they learned that alleged student threats on Sept. 18 were not disclosed until Oct. 4 — school officials apologized and the school board will meet privately to plan next steps. WTAQ
- ➤ The Green Bay Area Public School District board is weighing new safety measures—such as using metal detectors and storing backpacks in lockers—after concerns were raised by parents at a recent meeting. The board will issue an RFP to gather vendor information before finalizing any changes. WTAQ
- ➤ Parents at Zion Lutheran School Wayside in Brown County said they learned of alleged student threats 16 days after the incident and demanded faster alerts—while the school board is set to meet privately to plan next steps. WNCY
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Federal officials warned that if the shutdown continues, full funding for FoodShare and WIC will not be available in November, affecting more than 700,000 residents in Wisconsin—state officials are watching the situation and will update when more details are known. Green Bay Press-Gazette
- ➤ The Green Bay Metro Fire Department is replacing its 10-year-old mini ambulance with a new unit that costs $90,000 and is built with extra horsepower and a tighter turn radius — officials said it will be used at large special events including Packers games. The new ambulance will arrive in two years to help crews reach patients in places larger vehicles cannot access. WNCY
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Section Yellow has grown from two chairs in 2019 to over 2,000 members who help Packers fans in recovery by offering non-alcoholic drinks and support during game days at Lambeau Field. Volunteers (including Dana Houska and Pete Silski) hand out yellow balloons at the start of the fourth quarter to signal that alcohol is no longer served. NBC 26
- ➤ Ascension Wisconsin announced Tuesday it reached a new agreement with UnitedHealthcare that will keep in-network access for patients on UHC’s commercial, Medicare and Medicaid plans. The agreement is effective immediately and covers services from Oct 1 to Oct 13 — patients will not incur out-of-network charges. NBC 26
