- ➤ The Greater Green Bay YMCA and The Fridge launched a community fridge with a ribbon-cutting on Tuesday outside Ferguson Family YMCA on Pine Street, offering free fresh food donations to residents. Operated by the Joannes Park Neighborhood Association, it supports local efforts to reduce food waste and combat hunger. WBAY

- ➤ Kroll’s East owners said the restaurant remains open while they search for a buyer to continue its legacy. The business is for sale at $750,000 (or $850,000 with the name and equipment) and continues to hire new employees age 14 and older. WNCY
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The National Railroad Museum in Ashwaubenon held an electronics recycling fundraiser Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. with charges of $5 for one item or $10 for two+ items, supporting its educational programs. The museum is planning Paw Patrol Paw Palooza from June 12-14 featuring rides and crafts. WBAY
- ➤ NEW Dancing With Our Stars returns for its fourth year after a Tuesday kickoff at EPIC Event Center in Ashwaubenon and will feature eight nonprofit leaders learning ballroom dance with professional partners to raise funds; a showcase is scheduled on Oct. 3, with previous campaigns raising over $1.7 million. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Students and residents debated whether Kaukauna teacher Patrick Meyer should be fired for a controversial X post from April 25 during Monday's school board meeting. Some called for accountability while others urged caution given his long record in education. Green Bay Press-Gazette
- ➤ Kane Mach will become the new principal at Ashwaubenon High School on July 1 — replacing Dirk Ribbens who is headed to Wrightstown as superintendent — after serving as an associate principal at Green Bay East High School. Green Bay Press-Gazette
- ➤ Ashwaubenon High School will receive 30 new band uniforms funded by $22,308 raised by community partners (including Jaguar Backers, the school district office, and school administrators). The program, which serves 206 students, also plans a trip to Florida pending board approval in May. WBAY
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ County Highway P in Eaton was closed until further notice because of a failed culvert pipe (the detour follows State Highway 29 to County Highway T to County Highway KB) while repairs remain weather dependent. FOX 11

- ➤ Ashwaubenon High School’s Hope Squad is hosting its first annual Bowling for Hope mental health event on Saturday, May 2 at Ashwaubenon Bowling Alley (2929 Allied Street) in Green Bay. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the event runs until 11:30 a.m. FOX 11
