- ➤ The Wisconsin Humane Society launched a Valentine’s Day fundraiser that lets you send animal-themed e-cards with your donation and benefit from a $20,000 match through Valentine’s Day. The campaign invites locals to share a special message online. WBAY

- ➤ Progress Lakeshore has opened applications for its spring 2026 Entrepreneurial Training Program to help local entrepreneurs build strong business foundations. The program is offered in partnership with UW-Green Bay’s Small Business Development Center & provides guided instruction, expert insights, and personalized consulting. UW-Green Bay

- ➤ WEMSA is hosting Student Day at its conference in Ashwaubenon this week to show over 300 students EMS skills and spark interest in emergency careers (the program has grown from 80 students) as providers retire. WNCY
- ➤ Green Bay School District seeks community feedback on potential cuts, school consolidations and changes to address an $8M to $32M deficit in upcoming years. Officials will hold sessions on Feb. 17 (East High School) and Feb. 18 (Southwest High School) to guide a referendum set for Nov. 2026. Green Bay Press-Gazette

- ➤ County Highway Commissioner Chris Hardy explained that prolonged subzero weather has caused water to seep into pavement cracks on Allouez Avenue (creating a bumpy ride for drivers). Drivers are advised to slow down, as the conditions are expected to smooth out by spring. 94.3 Jack FM
- ➤ A concrete barricade was installed at the intersection of Landmark Blvd. and Costco Way in Bellevue Monday to ease traffic at a crash-prone spot — the temporary change now restricts Landmark Blvd. turns to right only with permanent barriers set for fall. WBAY
- ➤ In January, Green Bay’s Community and Economic Development Department issued an ordinance violation to Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary for using its facility as an unauthorized overnight shelter during a cold snap, and the director plans to meet with Mayor Genrich for further discussion — city officials cite safety concerns. 94.3 Jack FM
- ➤ Green Bay issued an ordinance violation to Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary on Jan. 23 for allowing unhoused people to sleep overnight during the cold snap and not following zoning rules. The shelter is now in compliance and its executive director will meet with Mayor Eric Genrich to address the issue. WTAQ
- ➤ Four I-41 repair projects will begin summer this year to fix flyover ramps, bridge approaches and pavement on the west side. Motorists will face detours and temporary closures, with additional phases planned in 2027, 2029 and 2031 — public input on design details is still welcome. Green Bay Press-Gazette
