- ➤ The Autism Society of Wisconsin (ASW) launches Safety on the Spectrum training for law enforcement agencies in Northeast Wisconsin to improve respectful community interactions by using strategies developed with input from officers, first responders, and families. 94.3 Jack FM
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Parallel 44 in Kewaunee and Door 44 in Sturgeon Bay won 30 medals at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition held in mid-January, placing them among the top local winners in a field of nearly 1,000 wineries. An Egg Harbor winery also earned a bronze medal for its sparkling wine made with locally grown grapes. Green Bay Press-Gazette
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ A study from St. Norbert’s College (in De Pere) found the Oneida Nation contributed over $1 billion to Wisconsin’s economy in 2025 while providing more than 3,200 jobs and paying over $94 million in taxes. - ➤ Local donor Karen Steingraber donated 45 acres to expand the Van der Brohe Arboretum in Two Rivers from 65 to 110 acres. The gift, finalized on Dec. 30, is expected to boost wildlife habitat & offer educational opportunities to the community. 94.3 Jack FM
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Green Bay officials issued a violation on Friday against Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary on Broadway for hosting unauthorized overnight stays during extreme cold. The group must end the practice immediately and executive director Elizabeth Feldhausen will meet the mayor on Tuesday (city rules require proper licensing). WBAY
- ➤ Wisconsin retirees can now subtract up to $24,000 of retirement income (or $48,000 for married couples) on state tax returns as part of a larger $1.3 billion tax cut plan approved in the state budget. Tax returns are due April 15. Green Bay Press-Gazette
- ➤ State officials ordered Cave Enterprises to pay more than $237,000 in back wages to teen workers after finding nearly 2,000 child labor law violations at 105 Burger King franchises. The ruling covered a two-year span and may include additional penalties if the company avoids litigation. Green Bay Press-Gazette

- ➤ Green Bay marked National Wear Red Day Friday when Prevea Health’s Dr. Megan Butler debunked common myths about women’s heart disease, urging early healthy choices and new research (downtown bridges were lit in red to show support). WBAY

- ➤ A recent Press-Gazette poll from Feb. 6 shows strong local support for a 5,000-seat USL soccer stadium, with 260 readers favoring the former WPS headquarters and Legends District as top sites.
